Capturing Carbon while Reducing Emissions

Our projects related to carbon capture and emission reduction represent an opportunity to expand the traditional scope of forestry activities in Chile and Latin America.

One of our aims is to select productive plantations and convert them into permanent protected areas. The activities of the project will contribute to multiple environmental improvements, including biodiversity conservation, water protection, soil erosion control, and carbon capture to help fight climate change.

Actions

The first project covers 5,990 hectares of forest plantations, and converts commercial trees into protected forests, to capture and reduce greenhouse gas emissions over the next 30 years.

This project was developed in accordance with all applicable standards and requirements established in the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) program, in compliance with the principles of ISO 14064-2.
