To honor and recognize those who are part of the teams responsible for the prevention and control of forest fires, Bosques Cautín commemorated the National Day of the Wildland Firefighter.
On February 15th in the commune of Traiguén, the company held a ceremony to recognize the firefighters for their courageous work and dedication. The land managers, the Commercial Department staff of Bosques Cautín, and the collaborators from Nilsen Ancamilla’s team were also honored for their ongoing collaboration in wildfire prevention and identification.
The Executive Director of Bosques Cautín, Marcelo Neculmán, acknowledged the work of the firefighters, who, each season, are committed to the invaluable task of protecting both people and natural resources. ‘Each one of the firefighters is an inspiring example for the community, as the work they do is high-risk and requires great effort. We believe that on days like this, we can pause our routines to recognize them’, he added, ‘Their work begins with prevention, and that helps ensure that our neighbors and collaborators can trust that each firefighter is committed to a task that demands both bravery and professionalism’.
In Chile, this commemorative day was officially established by Supreme Decree No. 47 on June 2nd, 2009, by the Ministry of Agriculture, designating February 15th as National Wildland Firefighter Day to appreciate the important work these professionals do in the fight against wildfires.
