Butarincón School in Lumaco receives an important donation

Thanks to the initiatives of Bosques Cautín and a donation from the company Ultranav, the students of Butarincón School in the commune of Lumaco will now have the opportunity to use computers in their classes and for their assignments.

The donation consists of 10 computers as a contribution to Bosques Cautín’s Education + Connectivity project, currently being implemented in 24 communes across the La Araucanía region. Additionally, the project provides access to satellite internet and teacher training through the Enseña Chile foundation’s programs.

‘It is crucial for us to continue supporting the educational processes in the region. It is important to understand that these are rural, isolated schools facing many challenges in accessing the internet, which is an essential tool for students’ education nowadays’, said Luis Alfaro, Sustainability Manager at Bosques Cautín.

Walter Sandoval, Director of the Department of Municipal Education Administration (DAEM) in Lumaco, expressed his deep gratitude for the donation. ‘They are prioritizing the well-being of the children; they are ensuring the education of each student, especially those at Butarincón School’.

This initiative is set to be replicated at the schools in Quetrahue and Manzanar, which was described as ‘wonderful news, we can see the dedication of the Enseña Chile foundation and Bosques Cautín to our children, who, in this case, are the most vulnerable in our community. We are excited by the fact that more schools are joining, and we hope that next year will be even better’.

Finally, Richard Leonelli, Mayor of the municipality of Lumaco, expressed his gratitude for Bosques Cautín’s support and commitment to education and connectivity, as evidenced by the installation of rural internet antennas at Chanco School.

‘Bosques Cautín goes beyond just installing the antennas; recognizing the need for computers, they have provided these 10 devices for the children, an essential tool for their development. We are deeply grateful’.

The educational program for teachers provided by the Enseña Chile foundation, will be an excellent tool to support educators and will have a significant positive impact on the education of the children in this commune.
