‘Education offers a chance to make a meaningful step in the development of individuals, and for Bosques Cautín, this is an opportunity to prove that,’ explained Marcelo Neculmán, Executive Director of Bosques Cautín, during a meeting with representatives from Enseña Chile, an organization committed to enhancing education for children in Chile.
Through a partnership, Bosques Cautín is supporting Enseña Chile’s UnlimitED project, which seeks to connect rural schools and communities through internet access, providing a high-quality global education that opens doors to the world, no matter their place of origin.
During a meeting in Temuco with the Executive Director of Enseña Chile, Tomás Recart, we assessed the connectivity and educational initiatives being promoted in various regions of the country. ‘There are more than 3,500 rural schools in Chile, and at the national level, they are often overlooked. There is no clear strategy, and a significant lack of support. What we are doing here is innovating by using connectivity not as an end, but as a means to provide what we believe is most important: education. Education for students, education for teachers to equip them with better pedagogical tools, education for school leadership teams to offer valuable feedback, and education for families to help them support their children.’
In a region like La Araucanía, there are more than 600 rural schools, according to Tomás Recart. ‘For us, Bosques Cautín is a strategic partner that will help us prove that it is possible to provide greater access to education for these four key groups in the community: students, teachers, school leaders, and families’.
‘Think globally, act locally’ is a concept that Enseña Chile promotes in its work. This innovation drives the advancement of education by training the four key actors mentioned, through a structured training plan and internet connectivity through satellite.
For Marcelo Neculmán, Executive Director of Bosques Cautín, this partnership with Enseña Chile is vital in the effort to promote education. ‘For this region, it’s a small but meaningful contribution, especially in education. Connectivity serves as a tool to achieve this goal, and we are excited to be working alongside Enseña Chile, with plans to extend this initiative beyond just these two years and make it a long-term project. We are committed to making that happen’.
‘We are very proud to form this partnership’, concluded Tomás Recart, ‘and to be strategic partners in the La Araucanía region, bringing quality education through this new channel: the internet’.
