With the participation of 24 schools in La Araucanía, the second stage of the Education + Connectivity project of Cautín was launched, where the company together with Kyklos unveiled the Interschool platform of the territory, web support with a focus on rural La Araucanía, where teachers will be able to access and find plans, teaching material and activities that promote learning about the environment and its care.
The platform seeks to facilitate the work of teachers who work in rural territories through the delivery of plans aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Ministries of Education and Environment. “For the first time, all rural schools in the eight communes where we are currently present will be incorporated, expanding the scope of the project and reinforcing our commitment to territorial equity and access to real opportunities for all schools, regardless of their location,” Luis Alfaro said, Cautín’s Sustainability Manager.
Camila Pavez, representative of Kyklos, a company dedicated to accompanying organizations on their path to sustainability by generating triple impact: economic, social and environmental, explained that the material “seeks to facilitate the teaching work with plans, activities and downloadable material that adapt to each level and subject, free of charge, in order to integrate the environmental curriculum. In addition, they will be able to be part of the Network of Environmental Educators of the country,” he said.
For her part, Dafne Ramírez, a teacher at the G-72 school in Villa Trintre in the Los Sauces commune, highlighted the initiative. “As a school we have as an educational seal the care of the environment, so this initiative is going to help us a lot because as teachers we are always busy, and now Cautín and Kyklos provide us with material and planning, which is what takes us a lot of time, and this will make our work much easier. I am very excited to carry out the project in the best possible way,” the teacher said.

Education + Connectivity
In 2022, Cautín gave life to the Education + Connectivity project, which has made it possible to connect more than 80 teachers and 800 students in 8 communes of La Araucanía, marking a milestone in access to digital and training tools in rural areas.
“Today we take a significant step with the start of the second stage of the project, which arises from the learnings obtained during these three years of joint work. We have understood that rural teachers face multiple challenges and that, therefore, they require accompaniment that recognizes and values this reality. As Cautín we are deeply proud to continue strengthening this shared path, and we reaffirm our conviction that rural education is key to the sustainable development of our territories,” Camila Niño concluded, Deputy Social Manager of Cautín.
